About the Physician

Donna Milliken is an Acupuncture Physician and Chinese Herbalist, Board Certified by the NCCAOM (National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine). Her education began at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft Lauderdale. Upon relocating to Melbourne Beach, Donna completed her studies at the Florida College of Integrative Medicine in Orlando. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Professional Health Studies and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. Donna is currently a member of the Florida State Oriental Medicine Association (FSOMA).

While in school, Donna completed courses in acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbs, nutritional therapy, cupping, moxibustion, and other modalities. To augment her education, Donna received advanced training from renowned Oriental medicine physicians including Dr. Li-Chun Huang in Advanced Auricular Acupuncture and Dr. Richard Tan in the Meridian Balance Method. Donna also trained with Susan Johnson, L.Ac, of the Acupuncture Association of America, learning Master Tung's Magic points. Additionally, she has attended seminars in Acutonics and Neuro-Emotional Technique, and is certified in Acupuncture Injection Therapy.

Donna successfully completed an internship in China with Dr. Li-Chun Huang at the PLA Hospital in Beijing. This was one of the highlights of her education. Here she gathered a complete understanding of Chinese medicine and culture, and she integrates this knowledge into her daily practice.

Donna is also a Registered Nurse. She has been in the field of nursing with an emphasis in cardiac for over fifteen years. She received her nursing degree from Columbia State Community College in Tennessee, graduating Suma Cum Laude, President's List, and Nursing Class President. Her continuing education has included advanced training in electrophysiology, Healing Touch I, II, and III, as well as participation in clinical studies using Healing Touch with cardiac patients at JFK Medical Center in Florida. Donna was instrumental in starting a YOGA program for the hospital employees at the Wellness Center of JFK, which emphasized "caring for the caregiver".

In her quest for wellness, Donna attended Seminar Network International, where she received a degree in massage therapy. Here her training included Swedish, Oriental, NISA, and Sports Massage. Donna has completed advanced training in Shiatsu, Breathwork and Deep Tissue Release, Color Therapy, and Stone Therapy with the Meridians. In addition to being a licensed Massage Therapist, Donna is a certified Shiatsu practicioner as well as a certified Sivananda YOGA instructor. In her spare time, Donna is an avid surfer and enjoys the beachside lifestyle.
